You can rest assured that your beloved pet will be treated with the utmost dignity and respect on their final journey.

Bringing your Pet to us

To ensure you have the time and privacy you deserve during your visit, we kindly ask that you call ahead to schedule an appointment whenever possible.

We do offer same day and urgent appointments.  If you need to be seen quickly, please call us on the day and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Home Euthanasia

We know how deeply important it is for your beloved pet to feel safe, calm, and comforted in their final moments. As the only pet crematorium in the North West offering a home euthanasia service, we give you the opportunity to say goodbye in the peace and privacy of your own home with an experienced RCVS registered veterinarian.

A gentle, compassionate vet will come to your home, allowing your pet to be surrounded by the familiar people, smells, and spaces they love. With warmth, care, and respect, we ensure every pet is given the dignity they deserve.

Following the visit, your pet can be lovingly transported to Aughton Meadows by the attending vet, or you are welcome to bring your pet to us yourself.

If you would like more information about this service, please contact us. We are here to support you every step of the way.

QUESTIONS ABOUT PET CREMATION

If your beloved pet has sadly passed away and you are requiring further information, please feel free to contact us at any time.

We have also compiled some frequently asked questions, which we hope can also guide you at this time.

An individual pet cremation is when your pet is cremated by themselves, they are the only pet in the cremation chamber, and the ashes returned to you only belong to them.

Our individual cremations come within the scope of the Association of Private Pet Cemeteries and Crematoria (APPCC) strict Code of Practice, which requires a respectful, dignified and caring service.

Your pet will be cremated alone in the cremation chamber, this chamber is meticulously cleared of all ashes after your pet’s service, guaranteeing that the ashes you receive back will be all and only those of your pet.

Yes, we can collect your pet from your home or your preferred veterinary practice.

There will be a collection fee applied, based on the distance and journey time, to and from the collection point.

You and your family are welcome to attend Aughton Meadows Crematorium. We assure you that you will have time and privacy, to say your final goodbyes in our peaceful and tranquil setting. Our staff are on hand to provide much needed support and guidance through this difficult time.

We understand some people would like to be present for their pet's cremation. Regrettably, for Health and Safety reasons we are unable to allow members of the public within our cremation area.

We are a small, family run business and in order to make each pet owner’s visit to us as peaceful and private as possible, we do ask that you try and book an appointment.

If you are on route to us from your vet or home, even a call to let us know you are coming is enough – we just want to make your experience with us as private and as dignified as possible at such a difficult time.

We will discuss all of the costs with you when we make the arrangements. As we are entirely independent from your registered veterinary practice, payment for our service is made directly to us here at Aughton Meadows.

Costing will vary depending on where we collect your pet from, the size/weight of your pet, ‘out of hours’ fees, the casket choice and if you have any additional items. You can view our price list here.

If you bring your pet to us for cremation, we will generally be ready to return their ashes to you within a few days. We do offer some casket options that are handmade & may take slightly longer. However an agreed collection date will be made at the time of initial visit.
